मध्य प्रदेश में पहली बार प्रोटेम स्पीकर को दिए जाएंगे विधानसभा अध्यक्ष के वेतन-भत्ते
प्रोटेम स्पीकर जगदीश देवड़ा का कार्यकाल अभी तक समाप्त नहीं हुआ। मानसून सत्र में नए विधानसभा अध्यक्ष का चुनाव होगा। तब तक देवड़ा प्रोटेम स्पीकर रहेंगे।
भोपाल, स्टेट ब्यूरो। मध्य प्रदेश विधानसभा के 16वें प्रोटेम स्पीकर जगदीश देवड़ा को अब विधानसभा अध्यक्ष जैसे वेतन-भत्ते दिए जाएंगे। अब तक देवड़ा को विधायक का वेतन और भत्ते मिल रहे थे। इस पर राज्य सरकार ने स्वीकृति दे दी है। इससे देवड़ा को हर महीने करीब 75 हजार रुपए का आर्थिक लाभ होगा।
कोरोना के चलते प्रोटेम स्पीकर जगदीश देवड़ा का कार्यकाल अभी तक समाप्त नहीं हुआ
विधानसभा में प्रोटेम स्पीकर का कार्यकाल आमतौर पर चंद दिनों का होता है। कोरोना वैश्विक महामारी की वजह से मप्र विधानसभा की कार्यवाही 24 मार्च को मुख्यमंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान के बहुमत साबित करने के बाद स्थगित कर दी गई थी। इस कारण विधानसभा अध्यक्ष और उपाध्यक्ष का चुनाव नहीं हो सका था। इस कारण प्रोटेम स्पीकर जगदीश देवड़ा का कार्यकाल अभी तक समाप्त नहीं हुआ। अब मानसून सत्र में ही नए विधानसभा अध्यक्ष का चुनाव होगा। तब तक देवड़ा प्रोटेम स्पीकर रहेंगे।

Sources reveal that due to the tenure of the Protem Speaker for two months, the Assembly Secretariat had sent a proposal to make Deora's salary and allowances to the state government instead of MLA. This proposal has been approved. Deora will be given the facilities of salary and allowances to the Speaker of the Assembly from the date of taking charge as the Protem Speaker.
Gyan Singh was a pro tem speaker for 41 days
It is worth noting that till now, Gyan Singh had been the Protem Speaker in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly for the longest time period (41 days) in 2013. Apart from him, in 1956 and 1962, Kashiprasad Pandey has been the current President twice, for 20 days and 14 days, in 2013-14 KD Deshmukh for 18 days. The term of the remaining Protem Speaker lasts from one to eight days.
