Delhi Assembly Election, appears imminent with the President of India dissolving the present Delhi Assembly; in the wake of inability shown by all the major political parties including Congress, BJP and AAP to form the state government in Delhi. No political party had got the clear majority in the Assembly Election, 2013. -Delhi Assembly Election was first held in the year, 1951.

-Delhi Assembly Election, 2015 will be the 6th in the state.

-Delhi Assembly elections 1998, 2003 and 2008 were won by Congress while BJP won the Assembly election in 1993.

-No party could get the clear majority following Delhi Assembly Elections 2013. AAP won 28 seats while BJP and Congress won 32 seats and 8 seats respectively.

-Total Number of Assembly constituencies in Delhi is 70.

-Narela constituency is the largest among all

constituencies.

-Vikas Puri constituency has the largest electorate.

-Delhi Legislative Assembly was first constituted on 7 March 1952 under the Government of Part C States Act, 1951.

-The Elections were held for Delhi Legislative Assembly in the years, 1951, 1972, 1977, 1983, 1993, 1998, 2003, 2008 and 2013.

-Chaudhary Brahm Prakash of Indian National Congress (INC) was the first Chief Minister of Delhi.

-Later on, Delhi was made a Union Territory under the direct administration of the President of India through States Reorgainsation Act, 1956. And, the Delhi Legislative Assembly was abolished and replaced by the Delhi Metropolitan Council headed by Lt. Governor of Delhi in 1966 under the Delhi Administration Act, 1966.

-The council was replaced by the Delhi Legislative Assembly through the Constitution
